#3 - GO AWAY - Performed by Numbers On Napkins

Numbers On Napkins are known for their comedic and sporadic live performances, full of wild and crazy entertainment, mixed with way too much booze and nudity for some patrons. Although the bands latest release, “Borrachos, Chingasos, Y Rucas”, manages to show the true talent of the band, and the bands second single, “Go Away”, has explosive energy, along with totally unique sounding bass lines and an honest sounding rock n’ roll guitar solo, meshed with choppy, sometimes almost rap style vocals.

“Go Away” is #3 of our top five best punk rock songs of the year, and marks the first time that NON’s drummer, Tad Gurthman, took a turn as lead vocalist for the band. Gurthman actually wrote all of the music, and all of the lyrics for the song, and it is also Gurthman’s first attempt and writing a song without any assistance from anyone else. It’s clear to see that Gurthman succeeded with his attempt, and the song is tight, catchy, and fun.

NON chose to film a music video for the song, using a pirate theme to help generate word of mouth about the single. The video features the different members of the band, as well as many of their friends, dressed as pirates, drinking rum, pillaging and plundering, and even walking the plank! The large sunken ship in the background of the video was actually very impressive for a very low budget video, and “Go Away” is powerful enough to come out on top without the help of any video! The song has recently been getting regular airplay on various college and online stations, including ASU’s very own, The Blaze, 1260AM! So call up your favorite station and request the song today!
